Experimenting with texture.
In order to develop my brand's identity I decided to experiment in terms of incorporating textures that are relevant to my brand theme and style. It is for this reason I experimented with textures that had soft colours with patterns that were not too extravagant in order to follow the simple vintage theme that my brand follows. For my final logo I felt that a simple off-cream coloured wool would be best suited to not only my logo but my entire brand as a result of wool having vintage aspects and connotations. After experimenting with the texture on the outskirts of the logo I felt as though it was not aesthetically pleasing and made the inner circle look too bright which is not comfortable to look at. However by incorporating the texture within the inner circle of the logo, it created a very 'cosy' warm and welcoming look about it, which I believe compliments the theme of the brand perfectly.

However placing the texture on the outskirts of the logo creates a very different look. It gives a sense of balance to the logo as it surrounds the inner shapes and helps draw out the focal typography. Another aspect that I find successful is the texture's floral design and where it is compositionally on my logo. Due to my logo having that simple flower look to it, placing the floral texture onto what would be the petals of the flower adds further development and thought into the branding itself. One aspect that could be improved is the composition of the typography as it leaves a lot of empty space within the logo.
By incorporating this pastel design into my logo I feel as though it may add a level of energy to the brand. It fills the otherwise empty spaces on the inner circle of the logo which gives the audience more the look at. However I am skeptical on whether or not the multicoloured polka-dot design completely ties into my vintage theme.
